At the time, "the Mighty Mopar Missile" was considered by many to be the most sophisticated car in drag racing. Designed by Chrysler engineers as a factory "exercise" in R&D, it set new standards in both innovations and performance, such as on-board computers, crank triggered ignition and the smaller-engine-less-weight philosophy made possible by extensive use of exotic metals, namely titanium.
